Speaker's Profile

Rune Christensen is Chief Executive Officer of the Maker Foundation and Co-founder of MakerDAO. The Maker Foundation is the organization facilitating the development of MakerDAO. MakerDAO governs the Maker Protocol and Dai, the world’s first decentralized, collateral-backed stablecoin on the Ethereum blockchain. Dai mitigates volatility through an autonomous system of smart contracts called the Maker Protocol, and through decentralized community governance.

Since 2015, Christensen has focused on establishing the vision and structure of MakerDAO and the economic foundations of the Dai stablecoin. Previously, he served as co-founder of Try China, a company providing international recruiting.
